Zollanvari, Switzerland.
Zollanvari is an Iranian family-owned carpet producer established in 1947. In 1985, Reza Zollanvari founded our international headquarters in Zurich in order to have direct access to the Western markets. The company expanded in 1989 when the weaving of large and room size Gabbehs began, using naturally dyed, hand-carded and hand-spun wool. This step is now recognised as a milestone in the history of Persian weaving.
Our carpets embody the spirit of Persian tribal carpet design and weaving. Zollanvari cultivates and nurtures personal relationships with numerous nomadic tribes in Iran, a close relationship that has resulted in a resourceful, sustainable, and ever-developing production.
A profound understanding of the splendour and profusion of the Persian weaving aesthetic informs our production, making it unique and timeless, qualities that have established our name as a global trailblazer in creating carpet art.
Over the past 10 years with the launch of Zollanvari Studio, we have developed an extensive range of designer carpets and kelims both in-house and working closely with specialist design studios in Milan (SoFarSoNear & Studio Original Designers 6R5 NETWORK), Vienna (NOV24) and Cyprus (Soheila Shayegan). Our design creations have been inspired by weaving traditions and artistic movements, from Japan to North and South America via Europe, Australia and Africa.
The Glitch Collection (Rhinestone 1 illustrated here) was conceived by SoFarSoNear Studio Milan who have produced several award-winning designs for us over the years, including the Carpet Design Awards, the German Design Awards and the IMM Interior Innovation Awards. Soltan 5 & 4a are two of a dozen designs from The Lion Collection created by NOV24 Studio Vienna, forming part of 10 new collections we produced in 2022 to mark the company’s Diamond Jubilee.
