Tapis Rouge Milan is a contemporary, hight-end rugs company based in Milan. Our story is rooted in ancient hand-made rugs traditions and it continues in the contemporary participating in the rituals of everyday life, drawing new expressive languages and new meanings.

We produce our rugs in Nepal, using only sustainably sourced raw materials and techniques that embody the care and tradition of the past, respecting the values of the communities we work with.

Tapis Rouge develops, designs and customize most of its collections in-house, thanks to the presence of an experienced group of designers; however, it is by vocation, committed to the production of special projects involving intellectual and artistic research outside the trends of the moment, to create original content with the ambition to produce value.

We primarily use materials derived from nature, from natural wool and silk to bamboo and alpaca, except for 100% recycled PET introduced for the outdoor rugs collection and Econyl certified for hypoallergenic products. Sustainability permeates every aspect of our work as a reflection of our ongoing commitment to producing, according to ecological and ethical practices. Our ethical commitment is intrinsic to preserving authentic, traditional processes from the past; that’s why we continue to use natural formulas that eliminate the environmental impact of dyeing the yarns.
